May Monsoon

The title might sound very absurd considering its not a title I would keep,but I feel is apt to describe the end of the month of May for the year 2008.Delhi generally doesn't have a rainy,watery May but this year was an exception.
Before you think this blog post is about weather changes and effects of Global Warming,its not!
Its about how something/someone came like a calm and cool wind that everyone loves and wants desperately to happen often and left like a storm,a hurricane, a cyclone which left me reeling under its effect.Its happened for the first time that am still jolted and await the breeze to blow on my face again.This might not be proper alliteration either but this is what I liked.
Now you must be wondering who/what I'm talking about..?
Its about the person that matters the most to me in the world,everything about her bothers me.Her smile makes me smile,her tears make me want to cry with her,her little anger scares me,her little pout deserves the attention it gets and frankly speaking she does deserve the attention she gets.I don't think naming that person would be the correct thing to do but if you're someone close to me then you would know by now who am talking about.
This wind entered the capital city on 29th May around evening time.The entry wasn't as expected.It had brought with it a bit of dust which didn't make the first day a happy day for me or the wind itself who was looking forward to being in a new city.But as I couldn't see the poor wind from being in a bad mood I met her and tried to sooth it down.I think I succeeded in my efforts.The wind was happy to see me and I couldn't have been happier to welcome the wind to my city.
On the second day,the wind was calmer and happier than the first day but as luck would have it,the second day proved to be a disaster too.The wind was totally shattered in its dreams and aspirations of enjoying this new city but a quiet dinner at night did make it feel better.
The third day couldn't be bad I thought.It couldn't be and it shouldn't be bad for the wind I promised myself.I met the wind in the morning and had wonderful plans for the wind to move about and spread her cheerfulness and happiness not just to me but to others as well.The third day would be the last day as both of us knew.By evening time the toll of the thought of separation had begun to enter both of our souls.Neither of us wanted to leave but the wind couldn't stay as it had to spread cheerfulness and happiness in other parts too.A dinner again worked well as the wind was probably temporarily distracted now of the thought of leaving.
By night time,I had bid adieu to the wind and the feeling of separation and loneliness began to come back and haunt me.The warm wind had now started having the effects of a huge storm which makes people cry and miss it while it was just a wind in the beginning of its phase.A little ray of hope still persisted in me that I would get to meet the wind for 1 day more,1 hour more,1 minute more but the mellow wind had left me reeling under its effect both emotionally and psychologically.
I hope to meet the wind in the near future,without her I miss how life totally is awesome and something to stay alive for,something to breathe for,something to stay healthy for.I've never been this affected by the wind than today.I've spent the whole day reeling under the magical memories of the wind and me together.I wish everyone gets a wind like this in their life,am sure I have one in mine.
I wish the wind and I remain together forever

UPDATE : The wind has safely reached its destined destination and I still cannot believe the wind blowing is over for now and am back in the humid weather with the hot scorching sun upon me.I wish the time could have gone slower.I just wish.....

Looks matter?

I was talking to a girl some weeks back on a chat room where the conversation headed to our relationship statuses and I am committed and I don’t really remember what her status was but one thing that she asked thereafter, startled me. She asked me, ”How does your girlfriend look?”. Frankly speaking this is a very common question and most asked when you tell someone you’re committed but I don’t understand why. Why does it matter how a person looks? Would you only like people who are pretty/handsome and cute and not care about how they are as a person and how they would treat you and how you both would connect (or not) ? Are these things totally immaterial against how HOT the person is? Also here I would like to mention how HOT as an expression sounds totally vulgar as against PRETTY.
This also raises the question about love at first SIGHT, is it possible? Is it realistic? Just by looking at the person for the FIRST time are you able to judge how a person would be? I certainly think this isn’t possible. You cannot know a person completely even if you spend your life with them and here you’re talking how you LOVE a person just by looking at them for the very FIRST time. So stupid!
Although I do agree that all of us who claim that we don’t care about the looks of either ourselves or people we like/love are not totally saying the truth. We all care about it but would never agree that we do. We all have our phases of how we think we’re not pretty/handsome/cute/*other synonyms here* and those who don’t are either lying or are blondes. (Yes I don’t like blondes much!)
Also isn’t it possible that one person may not be cute in your view but might just be the cutest person alive in others’ view after all you know what they say, “Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder”
That’s all I have to say.

I was thinking of changing the content type of this blog and give it a different turn.
We all use youtube for various reasons.Some for looking at sports videos,some for checking out music videos,some for other fantasies which require them to click a certain "Proof birth date" button.
I decided to make a Funny youtube videos list.These are funny in my view and if you have suggestions for other videos then add them to comments.Also remember these are not in a particular order of preference or funniness but just in the order I came across them.

1.This is part of the talent contest in Britain and has Simon Cowell(American Idol judge) among the notable judges.This video is a must see.It is where a person tries to fit himself into a balloon.Yeah into a ballon.I give it 3.5/5



2.I would like to mention that this video does look fake and that they are not real incidents but stunts.Nonetheless its worth the watch.I am also happy that am not as bad as these people are and also that they aren't related to me to cause any embarrassment. My rating 4/5.



3.These extra charged men try to show they are tough and take on various objects to emphasize on their physical appeal.My rating 4/5.Must see,really.



4.This is very adorably cute and would definitely crack you up.Its not always the video that is funny but the laugh by others as well.I love this one.If this can't make you smile or laugh then nothing can!My rating 4.5/5.



5.I saw this on Ellen Degerenes Show and found it fantastically funny and absurd.The video shows how a couple dance on "Baby got Back" on their wedding.Yes you heard me right.ON THEIR WEDDING!Also,the couple dance really well and the girl dances with the dress which is even more commendable.I would love to see it happen in real life.My rating 4/5.



6.Remember me saying how other peoples' laugh makes the videos funny too?(If you don't then go back to point no 4 and read again,you're not paying much attention by the way!)This video is terribly funny, maybe more than the baby video.Notice how the guy in the middle has such a funny,nasal laugh.After a few minutes it does get stale but enjoy it till that time.My rating 4.5/5 HAHAHAHA!



7.I think everyone's heard the crazy frog song.I used to find it so very annoying and still do and was shocked when this song was on No1 in the UK Billboard Charts(yeah it was *sighs*).These two brothers in the video lip sync the song and dance on it.Yeah on this annoying song.My rating 3.5/5.



8.How about a change from humans to animals,eh?This is a really funny video of cats.I saw this right after HOW TO WASH A CAT video.LOL.This has many MANY clippings of funny cat incidents.Watch out for how the cat tries to jump and eat the table tennis ball.LOL.My rating 4/5.



9.We have sibling rivalries with our brothers and sisters,right?Yeah we do.This shows how animals have rivalries too.Continuing with the animal videos,this features the other favourite pet,THE CANINE.THE DOG.It has very funny clippings too and the background song makes it a joy to watch.My rating 3.5/5(Dogs aren't my favourite pets you see.)



10.I received this video some weeks back from a friend.Thanks Surabhi.Its a really funny flash clip of how the world is going to be in a few years or maybe by 2050!The commentary in the video is awesome.Turn on your speakers for this.ITS A MUST SEE!! My rating 5/5.Yeah I know I should have put this video in the starting but this did build your excitement,didn't it?Yes it did.Enjoy.

Weddings - A yawner

I went to a wedding last week.It had been ages since I had been to a wedding, be it for a known relative or any random person getting into this mess which he might be in for the rest of his/her life.
It was my cousin's wedding,who am not so close to anyway but I could not find a way to miss the wedding as my exams were over and I had nothing major(or minor but thats a different story titled "My sucky life") to do to get away.The marriage date was fixed a few hours before the marriage(Yes you heard me right.A few hours!)Well you see my family and people close to my family(especially mom's side) have people who believe in the 18th century traditions of janam patri and other wedding rituals which are annoying to say the least and the priest thought mentioning a date for tomorrow would be a good idea and as it turns out it was implemented.Then started the frenzy of inviting people via phone, ordering for food, looking for banquet hall, buying clothes and other 200million things to be done.Believe it or not,but the groom got his wedding dress only around 6 for the 8pm wedding!
Although everything went fine with the decorations and food and the dress but I don't think holding a wedding on such short notice is a good idea.Continuing with the events of the wedding,we reached when the baraat was going towards the banquet hall.
I actually like the baraats and I guess I had danced in my cousin's marriage too but this time I didn't feel like.I was actually thinking how much money goes into weddings and post wedding functions and even pre wedding functions.
After an unbearable 45-50minute wait for the baraat to enter the banquet hall,which I endured by messaging,it finally entered the premesis.You know who gets the most bored at this time of the proceedings?The groom.All he's doing is either sitting on the horse and looking at how everyone is dancing or sitting in the recent methods of development in the wedding industry,a chariot.Even then he's sitting and looking,although more comfortably as compared to on a horse.
As we went inside the wedding hall,the waiters wearing neat dresses are standing with yummy looking food,which I hungrily gulped down and my stomach seemed to be breathing after that and got selfish for more and I really like my stomach I can't see it wanting more and not getting it so I satisfied it some more.
As the marriage ceremonies continued I kept thinking how bored the bride and the groom would be.Doing nothing but sitting there and giving fake smiles and posing for pictures and accepting money packets,lets keep money packets out of the boring zone.

The best part about marriages?THE BUFFET!You can eat as much as you can and its very rare that I find food at marriages being horribly boring and tasteless.
This was my experience of a recent wedding as I didn't stay for the pheras.
Oh another startling thing would be how many people turned up for the wedding despite the short notice and as per my mom these were just the close relatives.As per my estimate there were 200 people and not less.Apparently,mom's aunty's daughter is a close relative as per my family!!

Little Blah here,Little Blah there

I am sorry for not being regular (like anyone reads this but what the hell!)
Well this blog post is going to cover up for the whole April. Since this is a whole month and so far we're done with 23 days, am going to diversify this into 3parts.

1. General Blabber bibber
2. College fashion (yeah read on!)
3. Global Warming (yes I will also give you information on this!)

Well let’s start off.
I was thinking of stopping from writing blogs but all of my readers’ love brought me back (this is what I would have said had you people commented!) but somehow I brought myself back(courtesy that special someone who comments on my blog and is a fan of my writing (yes loadsa crap!)).So to all those out there, here, everywhere, even those who are online when they’re not supposed to be and all those who just stumbled upon this blog from somewhere, I would be very grateful if you people commented. It does nothing but appreciates the writer and motivates him/her and I don’t mean it for my blog alone but for any blog that you like.

2. College Fashion
My exams commenced last week (17th April) and it is a very hectic period filled with studies (yeah right!) and tension (this for sure!). So in this hectic period I forgot to carry my Admit Card allotted to every student by the university and carries your roll number and is a proof document. As I reached college around 2.15 for the 3pm exam,I realised the unthinkable has happened and this is worst case scenario. It made no sense to go back and get the admit card so I asked some other students who seemed like they had faced this situation before. They told me that you have to contact the principal and let her know and she will do the needful. I checked her room she wasn’t there (PANIC PANIC!!).I then went looking around in the offices of the evening department as well as the morning department. I found her in the principal office of the morning department (insert relief words here!).
I entered and she gave me the wardrobe check look (yeah that’s a look!).Oh I was wearing 3/4ths or capris and t-shirt (its bloody hot people!).So the conversation went on like this;
Principal: Yeh tumne kya pehna hai? (What are you wearing?)
[Comment: am used to the ridicule towards 3/4ths and how everyone this they’re “Half Pants”]
Me: Ma’m bahar bahut garmi hai. (Ma’m its very hot outside!)
Principal: Toh kal agar aur zyada garmi hogi toh tum kuch pehnoge nahi? (If it’s very hot outside then would you roam about naked?)
Me (with a smile which I would describe as a smile I give to get rid of her and to just get out of there!): Nahi ma’m.Actually main apna admit card ghar bhool aaya hoon (No ma’m actually I forgot my admit card at home…)
And the other part of the conversation is insignificant. I find this to be very absurd that how this fashion is made fun of. I mean am sure the first person who wore jeans in public would have been giggled at by other trouser wearing men who would have thought how preposterous their outfit was.


Now, to point three/trois/drei/teen

3.Global Warming
I was watching this movie called The Inconvenient Truth (starring Al Gore) its about how he gives complete information about global warming and how it is affecting our planet adversely and also I saw this tid-bit which had aired on national geographic about earth report.It was very moving as to how we're ruining our planet which might not even exist in some time. So as responsible citizens I request you to do little bits from your part to conserve energy and save the environment. I've started off with unplugging the charger after phone is fully charged (not just turning the switch off but unplugging the charger too) and then switching off unnecessary lights,fans,a/cs,tv's etc when they are not in use.I would be posting further links about how to save the environment and make this earth a better planet than Pluto! (I still feel sorry for that fella! Damn you NASA!)

Have you ever felt how one thing that affects a very dear person to you,affects you too?How when they are sad,you are sad too?How when they are happy,you beam too?Then maybe you're in LOVE.Am not saying that only Love gets you that feeling but friendship can too and family as well.But as for me its Love.
Its very absurd that he/she can rule your mood,not purposely of course.Even when it is something you can't fix and it is something you didn't do and aren't even remotely associated with.Is it a good thing that you are this close to a person or is it a bad thing that everything around them bothers you??
I am of the view that its all part of the relationship.You can't just expect the positive thing all the time.There isn't happiness always but sadness and despair too.You have to accept everything that comes along.
Of course this blog entry is not for people who are in a relationship for fun but for serious people in a serious relationship.

RESPECT AND PROTECT WOMEN

Location : Okhla Mandi Bus stop,East of kailash,Delhi
Event : A man gets down from the bus plying on route no 433 from the driver's side and starts to walk towards the back of the bus.I am behind a lady who is getting on the bus from the back door.The man walks towards the lady and brushes his hand on her behind,she turns her head around but as he's walking forward and she's got on the bus by now,she ignores.
I am taken aback by this incident.And the worst part is I could have done something but I didn't.I could have yelled or if it had to come to that, resorted to violence.
I don't understand why anyone would do that.Is the male species too desperate for female attention that he resorts to such disgusting acts?Or is it the just the Indian male group which has lowered itself to such sickness?
This is generalizing for sure but I don't see anything wrong in generalizing this right now.
Checking out girls and vice-versa is accepted but this goes to a totally new low.
I know a lot has been said and done about protecting women and increasing security but can there be any change until the common man realizes that what he's doing is wrong and unethical?
I hope many people read this and pass the word around to everyone to stand up to such people and protect ladies around you.
